After a brief survey a boundary wire will be inserted approximately 5cm below the surface around the edge of your lawn. Additional wires are installed to allow the robot mower to negotiate islands, fish ponds and other ornamental features in your garden. The docking station is sited at the edge of the lawn in a suitable location close to a mains power socket. Mains power is supplied to a transformer then the weather proof low voltage cable is connected from the transformer to the docking station. The robot mower is then programmed to mow the required number of hours, the required days and at your preferred time of day. The automower will automatically dock to charge up the batteries in the mower when required and park in the docking station when the mowing session is complete.
Once set up it is just a case of putting the robot mower on the lawn in the spring and putting it away in the autumn.
The robot mower will require an annual service at a cost similar to a small pedestrian mower.
